Austin— Precious metals prices strengthened Wednesday, with all four metals registering gains. Silver was again the biggest gainer, rising another 44 cents to $21.79. Silver is now up 11% since this time last week. Gold advanced 1%, regaining yesterday's losses, while platinum and palladium both edged higher.
December gold closed the New York session at $1,333.40, up $12.90. September silver closed the New York session at $21.79, up 2.1%. October platinum gained 5.50, closing at $1,505.20. September palladium gained $1.45, closing the New York session at $740.35
